5 Nov 2026, 10–11am | Carer Drop-ins | Town Hall, Maidenhead
Following on from our recent email about the Royal Borough's new carers drop-in, we're pleased to share that a digital poster is now available to promote the event — please feel free to share it across your networks!
The first drop-in session takes place on Wednesday 5th November, 10–11am, at the Town Hall. It's a friendly, informal space where unpaid carers can pop in for a chat, find out what support is available, and meet professionals who can answer their questions.
What is an 'unpaid carer'?
You may not think of yourself as a 'carer', but if you regularly support someone who couldn't manage without your help, you are one. The person you support could be a child, parent, partner, relative, friend or neighbour. You might help with:
Shopping and housework
Washing and dressing
Managing medication
Getting to appointments
Providing emotional support
Many unpaid carers don't see themselves in that label — they simply see themselves as a spouse, son, daughter or friend doing what needs to be done. But recognising yourself as a carer is the first step towards getting the support you're entitled to.
What to expect at the drop-in
Come along to:
Talk, share and get support and guidance
Find out about local support services
Meet professionals who can answer your questions
Learn about the support available for carers across the borough
There's no need to book — just drop in. Whether you've been caring for years or are new to it, you'll be very welcome.
