SEND Voices RBWM is the parent carer forum for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. We are an independent group of parents and carers who have a child or young person up to the age of 25 living or accessing services within the Royal Borough.

The Team

SEND Voices RBWM is a team of dedicated parent carers who have children with a variety of SEND. We came together around a shared hope to help other parent carers, establishing ourselves as a Community Interest Group (CIG) in September 2022 and officially launching in February 2023 at RBWM’s Inclusion Summit.

The steering committee is now a team of four, who meet monthly on a voluntary basis to guide the direction of the forum; we are Posan (Chair), Ellen (Treasurer), Kirsty (Secretary) and Yingni (Forum DBV lead). Collectively we have expertise in customer services, law, design and engineering; we apply the skills and experience from our professional work to forum work

The forum is represented by nine active parent carer representatives who are committed to regularly attending meetings with our strategic partners to ensure there is a parent carer voice. Our forum representatives are all members of the forum and some are also on steering committee. We are also starting to grow a team of parent carers who support the forum by sharing information about our events and activities with other parent carers at their children’s schools and also feeding back collective issues.

A parent carer forum can only exist with the support and involvement of parent carers, so please do consider joining us. If you have skills that you think will benefit the forum, or are interested in forum work and would like to develop skills, please do get in touch.
