RBWM’s SEND Inspection has now been completed.

Local Area SEND Inspection by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

RBWM’s SEND Inspection has now been completed.  It was a busy three weeks as all SEND service partners continued to provide services alongside the Inspection.  As the borough’s parent carer forum (pcf) representing the voices and lived experience of parent carers, Inspectors asked to speak with SEND Voices RBWM to support their lines of enquiry.  We discussed what we believe are local strengths and issues, what is improving and what still needs more work and why, as well as forum’s input at a strategic level.

We outlined that through our parent engagement sessions and parent surveys on the Partnership for the Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools project and our coffee mornings, we had heard lots of examples of good practice in schools but that the provisions made for children vary between schools and even within schools.  We discussed the difficulties faced by our forces families, as well as some of the challenges we face as a forum in reaching out to families and with our capacity.  To see our full presentation to Ofsted please *click here (*coming soon).

Ofsted asked to pass on their thanks to all the parent carers who were involved in the Inspection, either directly or through their survey.  Please note we don’t have any visibility of the Ofsted surveys, so please do still share your views and experiences with us, so that we can feed it into strategic meetings.  The final inspection report is usually published 30 working days from the end of the inspection, though this will be longer due to the Bank Holiday and half term.
